WPRZ Window Decals are a great way to help “Get the Word Out” that WPRZ is on the air and is ready to be a blessing in their life!!!  Got a WPRZ decal on your car?  Then send us a photo via mail or email and you’ll get a little gift!   Also, when you see another car with a WPRZ Window Decal on it, take a photo, and send it in, then you will get a little surprise gift and the owner of the car will get a little free gift if he or she calls us and lets us know that it’s their car.  Thank YOU for helping “Get the Word Out”!!  Photos become the property of WPRZ and may be posted on Facebook.  All photos of cars with WPRZ Window Decals will be posted at the station.  The rule is: only two people can get a free prize per car… the owner of the car and the person who sent in the photo!  Have fun! Email photos to info@wprz.org. Let’s see just how many photos of cars we can post!

Coming to Culpeper Movies 4 "The Lost Medallion" Opens April 19

WPRZ has partnered with Resurrection Pictures, a non-profit organization, to bring this movie to Culpeper!  The movie is a faith-based, family, action/adventure film that will thrill children and tweens, six through fourteen, their parents and grandparents.  In this movie, Alex Kendrick of “Courageous” and “Fireproof”, plays Daniel Anderson who visits a foster home to drop off some donations when he is quickly roped into telling the kids a story.  The story he tells transitions into a heart-racing adventure.  Alex Kendrick says it’s a wholesome movie that will take you back to a more innocent time but will keep you on the edge of your seat. The movie is endorsed by some great organizations including Youth for Christ and Awana.  And what is so great about this partnership between Resurrection Pictures and WPRZ is that WPRZ will receive a portion of the ticket sales!  The movie will open April 19th and is scheduled for one week.  However, if response is good, it will stay for another week! 
 
Please help us get the word out about this movie and its many benefits!  Churches can get a free curriculum series for Sunday school, mid-week studies or for families to talk about the positive themes of the movie.  It’s a chance for parents and grandparents to take their family to a movie that provides opportunities for conversations about God and the gospel on the way home or over dinner!  Please… let’s support this faith-based film!  There are way too many anti-Christian films out there.  As the body of Christ let’s do our best to fill up the theatre every day and night!  We have free posters, brochures, and bookmarks to place in your church or your business!  To get some, just call and we’ll mail them to you or you can come and pick them up.  Please help us get the word out!  This is a great opportunity and a win win win for everyone!!!   Find out more at www.thelostmedallion.com.

 

WPRZ Spring Sharathon "Let Your Light Shine" April 10-12, 2013

WPRZ 88.1 FM has been on the air now for almost three years!  It’s been an incredible journey that began 15 years ago!!!  God has brought us so far and has placed us in the center of our hometown of Culpeper where we are broadcasting the Good News not only locally but around the world over wprz.org!  To do that takes a lot of finances! We are asking God’s people to help financially more than ever so WPRZ’s expenses can be fully covered so we can move forward with what God has put on our hearts to do!!  First and foremost, we need to get some critical expenses covered that are critical to enable us to broadcast at all!  Then, we are hoping for funds to hire more staff and obtain some needed equipment!  We are hoping and praying that God will provide all the funds needed to make this possible!  We would request your prayers for this Sharathon!  What happens during this Sharathon will be major event in our history!  WPRZ needs more listeners and friends to give the best gifts they can give during this critical time!  We’re turning our music room into a dedicated Prayer Room for this event so if you would like to come in and help keep the prayers going up, then please do so!  We are asking everyone to please pray as you listen. Our ultimate goal is $30,000.00 a month or $360,000.00 a year. During Sharathon, we simply must reach $20,000.00 a month or $240,000.00 for the year, through March 2014.

Join us as we celebrate what God has done and is doing at WPRZ!! It’s time to raise the bar and reach upwards for an increase in funding that will allow us to continue carrying out the mission God has given to us to do over WPRZ-FM!!  We are gathering together a group of men and women, businesses and churches, who will be used of God to provide adequate finances for WPRZ-FM to operate in our local community!  We have come a long way...but we still have a long way to go to receive adequate funding to cover all the necessary expenses, not including needed funds, to move forward serving our listeners even better!  Please pray now about what God might have you do.  We’ll be sending out more information in the mail and will be earnestly and prayerfully waiting for your response.  Will you be one of God’s people who will give and be committed to seeing WPRZ-FM continue as a locally owned and operated community-oriented local radio station?  We can do this if we all pull together and if everyone gives out of the riches God has given them!  Please be in prayer about this and be watching for your Response Card!  May God bless everyone who helps us in a very special way!

"Sunday Morning Bluegrass" on WPRZ 88.1 FM

In addition to “Bluegrass Fridays” with Jeff Light, we are so pleased that Charlie Smith is the host of “Sunday Morning Bluegrass” every Sunday morning from 9 to 11!   Charlie is very knowledgeable about local and national bluegrass music and is a regular MC for The Dean’s local concerts.  We’ve already had a request to extend the program!  Give us your feedback and please help us get the word out about this great new addition to our lineup!   We hope it will be a blessing to bluegrass fans locally and around the world on wprz.org!!

 

 

WPRZ-FM "A Time to Share" and "Open House" November 8 & 9

You are invited to come to our new location on East Davis Street and see our new studios and office space!  We are so happy to be here! We will have refreshments and you will have the opportunity, if you like, to share over the air how WPRZ-FM has impacted your life.  We’ll be sharing where we are with meeting WPRZ-FM’s expenses and encouraging more listeners to get involved!  We’ll have some door prizes and a little gift for everyone who comes by.  We are looking forward to this special time with our friends!  If you can’t make it then, just come by anytime and have a cup of coffee with us and we’ll show you around the offices and studios. We’ll be sending out invitations with the details and pledge cards so please be watching for them!  WPRZ-FM needs your prayers and your help!!!

WPRZ-FM is Now Broadcasting from East Davis Street in Culpeper!

Finally, after a move that began June 24th, we went on-the-air September 3rd from our new “Studio B” which will eventually serve as our production room!!!  Our main studio which is “Studio A” is now under construction and we hope to have it operational in a couple of weeks!  So far, over 2000 feet of cables and various “lines” are running through the ceiling from location to location within our offices.  Moving our on-air operations was a very complicated task because of all the different sources we use to bring you such a wonderful variety of programming like National up to the minute News, local weather and emergency weather alerts, Bible teaching programs from all over the country as well as local ones, four different genres of music, as well as various programming from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  We have installed one of two state of the art studio boards that will enable us to easily perform various functions during the broadcast day that were difficult to do before...if possible at all.  There were a few days where we had to trace down some technical problems but we are pleased to say that they have all been found and fixed!  One big problem was caused by two little crossed wires done at the end of a 15-hour day spent running wires by one of our techs. He is to be commended for his skill and long hours working on this big project!!!!  Be assured that once we get settled and learn all the new things these boards can do we will be able to serve you, our listeners, even better!  We thank God for all this new technology, providing these new boards for us, and giving us the patience and skills to learn them!!!

We have been faced with some additional unexpected expenses as well as the cost of a required new receiver that we had to purchase from Moody in order to continue to air the network.  We are praying that we will be able to cover all these additional expenses as well as clean up two hefty bills we had that we were not able to pay in full from the sale of the property.

We are planning an “Open House” when we get our Main Studio completed and hope you will come by.  We’ll give you the date just as soon as we can.  Till then, please keep us in prayer and if God prompts you to send in an extra gift to help, we would be so grateful if you did!
