Praise Communications is Back on the Air

Praise Communications is pleased to be back on the air via WKDL, 1250AM, a new ministry of Praise Communications!   On WKDL you will hear the same great music and programs you loved on WPRZ AM….music and programs that glorify God and help us all grow in our faith!

Though the call letters have changed on 1250AM to WKDL, you’ll hear the same great format you heard on WPRZ AM before we sold it in order to grow the ministry.  And grow it we are!!!  Because now, after an eleven year wait…we are beginning to build our new FM radio station at 88.1.  The new station at Brandy Station should be up and running in just a few months!  And don’t forget, you can listen anywhere in the world right here at wprz.org.  So please keep Praise Communications in prayer…and come…grow with us in this new adventure for the Glory of God!!!.... and…stay tuned.  There’s more to come!

Coming Soon…WPRZ 88.1 FM!!

We are pleased to announce that the FCC has indicated that Praise Communications, Inc. is the selectee to receive authority to build a new radio station at 88.1 FM.  The new 10,000 watt FM station will be licensed to Brandy Station and we will operate it from our studios on Baldwin Street in Warrenton.  We have been waiting for approval to build this FM station for eleven years, the last two years being the hardest as we re-filed and sold 1250 AM.  We won over 25 other applicants in 19 other communities.  God has provided the tools to accomplish what He has placed in our hearts to do.  He has also sent people to help with the abundance of tasks and jobs that have been required so far.  We will need more people for engineering, on-air positions, fundraising, special events, and specialty music programs.  God has always sent just the right people at just the right time to help out.  We can’t wait to see what He has in store!!  Please join with us in prayer as now, we begin to build the new station!!

We are pleased to bring you these special programs from the Moody Broadcasting Network…

Thanksgiving Specials

November 26 - Thanksgiving Day - 4:00 - 4:55 pm - The Crossing:  A Cabin Boy’s Journal

This is a fictional story based on historical facts about an orphaned 14 year old who is given the job of cabin boy on the Mayflower.  When he becomes ill, he finds himself pulled in two directions - toward the God of the Pilgrims and toward the relative safety of his coarse companions.  His struggle is the framework for a fresh retelling of the Pilgrim story.

November 26 - Thanksgiving Day - 9:00 - 9:55 pm - Remembering Pilgrims:  A Thanksgiving Special

This special takes listeners on location to Plymouth, Massachusetts for a colorful palate of engaging interviews, authentic hymns from the era, and dramatic vignettes that all paint a picture of American history that is profoundly moving and distinctively Christian.

Christmas Specials

November 27 - Friday - Christmas Music Begins!

November 29 - Sunday - 4:00 - 5:54 pm - The Messiah

This is the traditional performance of George Frederic Handel’s classic work Messiah performed by the Sacred Music Department of Moody Bible Institute, featuring the Oratorio Chorus and Orchestra.  The Messiah sets The Word to music:  God’s promises of salvation, prophecy of the birth of Christ, the suffering and death of Jesus and His resurrection from the dead.  Interspersed are numerous calls to worship God and bring the Good News of hope to others.

December 6 - Sunday - 12:00 - 12:55 pm - Behind the Carols

This special will bring your favorite Christmas Carols to life through the wisdom of a loving grandfather and the imagination of a child.  Dramatic sketches throughout will reveal some of what influenced the authors and composers to produce such memorable works.

December 12 - Saturday - 6:00 - 6:54 pm - The Hope of Hanukkah:  Jesus and the Festival of Lights

This special takes listeners on location to Israel for a riveting you-are-there account of how God gave the Jews an unlikely victory and how “Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights” arose from one of the darkest periods of Israel’s history.

December 13 - Sunday - 1:00 - 1:54 pm - The Trail of Two Kings

One king was desperate to secure his own place in history and ruled from indescribable opulence. The other conceded he had no place to rest his head and was consumed with eternity - ours.  On location interviews and sounds mix with an original music score to tell the Christmas story from a decidedly sobering perspective - Herod’s.

December 20 - Sunday - 12:00 - 12:55 pm - O Little Town of Bethlehem

An engaging presentation of the Christmas story, lavishly illustrated with sound portraits of ancient and modern Bethlehem.

December 20 - Sunday - 1:00 - 1:54 pm - Candlelight Carols

The annual Moody Bible Institute Christmas pageant.  This year’s theme will compare lowly Bethlehem with the grandeur of Jerusalem.  This contrast encourages reflection on Christ’s humble gift, given in such an unexpected way, and begs the question, “Why Bethlehem?”

December 24 - Thursday - 11:00 am - 12:54 pm - Repeat of The Messiah

December 24 - Thursday - 4:00 - 4:54 pm - Repeat of The Trail of Two Kings

December 25 - Christmas Day - 4:00 - 4:55 pm - Wheaton College Christmas Festival

As always, we pray these special programs will enrich your Christmas Celebration!
